Compuware becomes software testing partner of choice for China's software parks

Strategic partnerships in place in Beijing and Shanghai as government backs depth and strength of Compuware's products

Hong Kong - 2 September 2003 - Compuware Asia-Pacific has been chosen as the software-testing partner of choice for China's burgeoning software industry. Selected by Beijing's Zhong GuanCun Software Park (ZSP), Compuware will provide its extensive range of quality assurance and testing tools to the ZSP's new Software Testing and QA Centre.

ZSP, China's leading national software industry incubator, forms strategic partnerships with vendors that can clearly add value to its overall aim of being a world-class application development centre.

The software centre, known as the Beijing Software Testing and Quality Assurance Centre (BSTQAC) carries out testing for both government and commercial organizations throughout China.

"Compuware was chosen as the testing partner for the BSTQAC, because of the depth and strength of the company's products and its solid 30-year heritage in application development, tuning, testing and management.

Set up in July 2002, BSTQAC aims to be a world-class testing centre, adhering to the highest international standards for software application development. Under the agreement with Compuware, the centre will deploy Compuware's QACenter and Vantage tools in the centre's testing projects.

Since it was established, BSTQAC has seen steady growth. It has more than doubled its staffing levels and today, employs more than 90 highly qualified testing engineers. Compuware has also set up a demonstration lab in the ZSP to provide further support to the BSTQAC.

Through its relationship with the Zhong GuanCun Software Park, Compuware has already been introduced to a number of software centres across China, and has been selected by the Shanghai Pudong Software Park (SPSP), to provide key testing infrastructure tools to one of its companies. SPSP was set up by the Ministry of Information Industry and the Shanghai Municipal Government.
